To complete the circle, I went to the airport in Tel Aviv this morning to pick up AMY Wachtel, now safely arrived for a "spontenious" 3-week Tyule ("field trip") here in the Holy Land. Amy came to Long Beach to help me through the very last days of my last days before Aliyah, and now here she is just in time for Yom Yerushalyem and Shavout, coming up next week!To Amy's credit she did emerge from the plane looking lovely in spite of feeling ... "icksah"... from 11 long hours with the El Al crew and several hundred other travelers, not all of whom maintain the stringent personal hygene standards one would hope should be standard for all travelers in close quarters.
